Pandemics have always shaped cities — Life after the COVID-19 outbreak will never be the same as before.

7.8 billion people are now generally limited to their homes, which means more than one-quarter of the world’s population is practicing social distancing, as governments impose restrictions on movement and social contact to contain the spread of the virus.

Despite a decline of such an unprecedented scale in almost all the survival fundamentals, humankind will still find the strength to recover.

For that foreseeing the post-pandemic world is vital in ensuring that we will change for the better, not for the worse.

I am pretty sure the measures that we are taking to save our lives will change how we live, work, worship, and play in the future, must of us are wondering which of the current adjustments will endure beyond the end of the pandemic, and what life might look like on the other side.

So what does life look like on the side?

COVID-19 will shape a new industrial era and fasten the digitalization of all services, including public services.

  1. Technology and Artificial Intelligence will be the new economic drivers
  2. Increase remote work as it reduces costs and pollution
  3. Meetings will become ever more remote
  4. Cryptocurrency comes back on the right track with serious measurements
  5. Lower demand for oil consumption

On the long term, artificial intelligence will replace most of the human intelligence.

For example, in the healthcare sectors, we will witness a revolution in the delivery of primary healthcare.

Digital technologies will become even more prominent, and we are likely to see a rise in the use of telemedicine as well as Artificial Intelligence testing.

Usually, a doctor examines a patient and prescribes treatment based on the clinical examinations and studies, and for sure according to his experience, now imagine after the pandemic, and due to the latest medical and technological inventions to help reduce the spread, the doctor will be replaced by a robot learning receiving and processing all patients information with their history and DNA that will most probably lead to a more reliable treatment.

Another similar example, banks have adopted AI solutions for

1) Lending portfolios

2) High-frequency trading solutions

And all the recent job cuts are in the customer service departments, which increases the unemployment level national wide, with a radical exception for technology and data scientists sectors.

What I am sure about is life won’t be the same after COVID-19, we’re not going back to the normal, Coronavirus is boosting toward Artificial Intelligence in the long run.
